The Samsung HL-R5688W is a 56-inch (diagonal) digital light processing (DLP) projection TV manufactured by Samsung. It is a high-definition television (HDTV) with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and an advertised maximum display resolution of 1080p. This model began shipping after April, 2005. It was the first 56-inch 1080p HDTV that Samsung released. It featured a screen and speakers set atop of an integrated pedestal that contained the electronics and projection apparatus. ''Note:'' When video signal is applied via the VGA and HDMI inputs the TV may display some degree of overscan or Underscan depending on the source device, resolution and input connector.
